The reflection was clearly vivid as Steve Smith was seen trying to create a spot on the pitch by his shoes so that Nathan Lyon could get the favour.

Still thanks to epic effort by the Indian batsmen who could not be tamed by Pat Cummins, Mitchel Starc and Nathan Lyon

Despite the fact that a section of the crowd generated controversy by offering racial abuse to Mohammad Siraj resulting in arrest of six spectator as well as Australian captain Tim Paine’s sporting gesture of standing beside Indian team, the duel on the 22-yard was never low.

Australia vs India 3rd Test Day 5 highlights also saw the Australian bowlers, especially the two fast bowlers Cummins and Starc had continuously offered short-pitched deliveries to Hanuma Behari, R. Ashwin which caused injuries. Still, these two batsmen never gave up.

Australia vs India 3rd Test Day 5 highlights must mention the huge effort initiated by Cheteswar Pujara and Rishabh Pant after Indian captain Ajinkya Rahane’s failure in the seond innings. With Rahane being out for only four runs in the second innings the responsibility was shouldered by two overnight batsmen, Cheteswar Pujara and Rishabh Pant. Pujara batted with as usual rock-solid defence, recording his slowest 50 against Australia in 174 balls. On the other hand, Rishabh Pant applied the style of counter-attacking Australian bowlers. Before the wicket-keeper got out at the hands of Cummins bowled by Nathan Lyon, he struck 97 off only 118 deliveries including 12 fours and 3 huge sixes. Pant and Pujara induced the confidence for their teammates by securing a 148-run firm partnership. Their steadiness also cracked the Aussie bowlers’ spirit also. Pujara played 205 deliveries and finally bowled by Hazlewood at 77. He executed only 12 fours in his innings.

After their departure, Hanuma Behari and R. Ashwin just carried the mantle, left by Pant and Pujara. Behari followed the line of Pujara, remaining unbeaten 23 off 161 deliveries with only 4 fours while R. Ashwin who once was a decent batsman in his days in the domestic cricket also dished out a gallant 39 off 128 deliveries, exhibiting 7 fours. Even being struck on hand by Cummins’ short-pitched delivery, Ashin went through the medical attention and returned to the wicket with more vigour.

Australian bowlers also became desperate as Starc, despite havin bowled 22 overs and giving 66 runs was wicket-less. Hazlewood was best in the show among the bowlers as he claimed 2 wickets at the cost of only 39 runs from 26 long overs maintaining his impressive economy rate of 1.50 and Nathan Lyon, the spinner who is regarded one of the world’s best nowadays, had bowled 46 overs to claim 2 wickets at the cost of 114 runs. Cummins earned the only wicket of Rohit Sharma having bowled 26 overs and gave away 72 runs.

Indian team, before the fourth Test has the only worries that a few more players have received injuries and time will say whether they will be fit to play at Brisbane.
