Australia vs India 4th Test Day 1 highlights

The all-important 4th and the concluding Test between India and Australia at Gabba, Brisbane that will decide the score-line of the series (tied 1-1 now), began on Friday.

Australia vs India  4th Test Day 1 highlights saw Australia winning the toss and electing to bat. They finished the day with 274 runs for the loss of 5 wickets thanks to Marnus Labuschagne’s gallant 108 off 204 deliveries and Indian fielders’ poor M by missing a couple of important catches. Otherwise, Australia would have struggled more to reach the score they have made on an opening day.

Australia vs India 4th Test Day 1 highlights must mention the blows India received which can be called rare in the country's recent overseas Test history. The two key bowlers in the team Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin have already been ruled out due to injury. The woe has been added by Navdeep Saini's potential groin injury after he bowled 7.5 overs and finally he has gone for a scan. Besides, Rabindra Jadeja and Hanuma Vihari have also been out of the squad due to injury. Both the players had played important role in forcing Australia to draw in the previous Test at Sydney. Mayank Agarwal and Washington Sundar have replaced Jadeja and Vihari while Shardul Thakur and Natarajan, the debutant in Test cricket have stepped onto the field in the decider Test. On the other hand, only Marcus Haris has replaced injured Will Pucovski in the playing eleven.

However, it was an excellent start for India as Mohammad Siraj offered the early blow, forcing David Warner to return to the pavilion for 1 run only. Debutant Natarajan also was impressive in maintaining accuracy in line and length. Shardul Thakur struck in the 9th over. Haris was caught by Sundar of the bowling of Thakur for 5 only. Even Steven Smith, the man who exhibited a splendid century in Sydney, could not sustain. He returned to the pavilion off the bowling of Sundar for 36 runs only after having faced 77 deliveries. He could hit only five fours.

Australia vs India 3rd Test Day 5 highlights in SCG

India Vs Australia 4th Test Day 1 highlights saw a courageous fight-back at the stage when Australia was floundering with 3 for 87 runs. Labuschagne and Mathew Wade made a partnership of 113 runs in the 4th wicket. Indian fielding, distracted during this time, had dropped a couple of important catches. Labuschagne was dropped by captain Ajinkya Rahane when he was on 37 while Rishabh Pant missed the stumping chance of Wade who was giving solid assistance to Labuschagne at that time. Wade finally got out for 45, playing 87 deliveries of the bowling of Natarajan. It was Natarajan’s maiden Test wicket.

Labuschagne finally was out of the bowling of T Natarajan, completing his fifth century, hitting only 9 fours.  At the end of the day, Cameron Green (not out 28) and the captain Tim Paine (38 not out) were on the stumps.

Probably, this has been the first time in recent times, Indian bowling is so inexperienced. Mohammad Siraj has been the most experienced bowler in the line-up. Still, the newcomers were impressive, especially, debutant T. Natarajan who scalped 2 wickets for 63 runs in 20 overs. Siraj earned 1 wicket while Shardul Thakur and Sundar bagged one each.
