Did India always miss an M.S. Dhoni before M.S became a phenomenon?

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a big name in the Cricket History be it the deadly world cup environment or the fancy yet rough and tough IPL that has Indian teams representing the cricket itself.

We will be in utter surprise to know how Dhoni was in sheer justice to become a leading batsman for the Indian National Cricket Team but ended up starting with wicket keeping and he literally used to devote most of his time practicing with his utmost preparation on the ground during his school days. This was where the foundation was being laid off for the M.S Factor.

Slowly he started caring more for his passion that is cricket and went on developing a strong conception by concentrating on the concepts of cricket that included the bowling, fielding, and batting tactics, this is when M.S Dhoni become a Phenomenon.

He was a small-town boy with big dreams in his eyes. We surely did not know him as “DHONI” before he became a huge cricketing sensation and talk of the town.

To know a little more about him in-depth, let’s take a look at:

His career before he stepped into the mass of fame

In 1998, he was selected by Daval Sahay for playing in the central coal field’s limited team and that was just the beginning of his path full of struggles & success. Till the year 1998 Dhoni was in class 12th in school, he had played only school cricket and club cricket and no professional cricket. He has a bag full of anecdotes that had to hold him to perform his best into his career. Deval Sahay also used to give him a token of love with just Rs. 50 for each of the six that he used to gain in the Sheesh Mahal tournament. Playing for CCL, he got a great chance to bat in that order. It is said that Deval Sahay only pushed him to participate in the bigger matches that included the Bihar U19 squad as well as the others like CCL and the Bihar Ranji Trophy tournament.

He had given his too much in the net practice that included the catching practice as well, which was much appreciated. Missing his classes he used to be hunting on the cricket bat. In the Bihar Ranji tournament, he had scored a total run of 84 that contributed to the highest score panel for the team.

He was also there in the A list team for India, moreover, his heart and mind were there in the Jharkhand cricket team match as well. He did put in every possible effort in getting that flow and length in his batting in different positions, his batting used to go round and round in that mood. Because of so many experiments in the batting line up, he was able to form and set one of the best batting lines up for the Indian Cricket team which made him eventually one of the Best Captains for Team India.

He worked as a Train Ticket Collector/Examiner

MS Dhoni worked as a Travelling Ticket Examiner in the Kharagpur Railway Station from 2001 to 2003, post to which he recognized that he was not meant for that post and made his tough decision to move out of it and make way to the Indian Cricket Team with his constant efforts.

Dhoni’s World Cup swirls and his dedicated era

How can we forget about his “Helicopter Shot” which was the final victory shot-making India win the ICC World Cup 2011 Final against Sri Lanka. Dhoni was an expert in all 3 formats, which was a crucial turning point for the faith of the Indian Cricket Team

It is well said that simplicity makes a man reach a height over the mountains. Therefore, there are few of the epic memories that have made Dhoni grab the targets easily be it 183 for 145 balls or the target of 299 after a Kumar Sangakkara century. It is said that Dhoni had led the ODI team of the year milestone.
