India Vs England 2nd Test Day 3 Highlights

Ashwin shines, India hopes for win

India has set a formidable lead of 482 runs for England, being all-out for 286 in the second innings of the England Tour of India 2nd Test, being held at Chennai. At the end of the 3rd day on Monday, England in reply is 49 for the loss of one wicket.

India Vs England 2nd Test Day 3 Highlights include the maximum part on the hero of the day Ravichandran Ashwin. The Chennai boy scored a magnificent century, guiding India to settle the formidable lead. Ashwin scored his fifth century in Test and the first at home ground.  The right-arm off-spinner, who was not a part of the Indian team in the limited-over due to Ravindra Jadeja’s batting quality, had worked hard and tried to concentrate on his batting. Chennai saw the reflection of that hard work on Monday.  Ashwin scored 106, playing 148 deliveries in 235 minutes, hitting 14 boundaries and a huge six.

After the initial collapse of India’s batting in the second innings where the mainstay batsmen like Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteswar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, and Rishabh Pant failed to shine, Virat Kohli took up the responsibility to take the mantle and he got Ashwin for the assistance. Indian innings progressed after Kohli and Ashwin made a 100-run partnership, salvaging pride for the team. Kohli also looked solid in the beginning but unfortunately got LBW to Moeen Ali at 62. He was on the crease for 200 minutes, facing 149 deliveries, hitting 7 fours.

India Vs England 2nd Test Day 3 highlights also should include England bowlers' relentless effort, especially, mention the spinner Jack Leach who was the joint-top scorer and scalped 4 wickets at the cost of 100 runs in 33 overs. The other joint-top scorer was Moeen Ali who captured 4 wickets also giving away 98 runs in 32 overs.

However, India Vs England 2nd Test Day 3 reports must mention that India is in a beautiful position with a whopping lead with two days left. Virat Kohli also should be in an advantageous position for the battery of his rested bowlers. Now it will depend on Ashwin and company to snatch the victory and level the score line of 1-1.
