India Vs England 3rd Test Match Preview

Day-night, Pink-ball and newly Motera Stadium are the additional attractions

The 3rd Test between India and England in the ongoing four-Test series is going to commence on 24th February on Wednesday and England Tour of India Series will be played with the pink ball and a day-night affair. It is going to be significant from a couple of aspects. One of the key interesting features in this Test is the newly made Sardar Patel Stadium. Along with this, the cricket fraternity must be curious about whether India can take lead to 2-1 by winning the Test. The 3rd and 4th Test, also to be played at Motera Stadium seem crucial for India as winning both Test will not only help Virat Kohli and company to seal the fate of the series at 3-1 but also help them to qualify for the World Test Championship final.

India Vs England 3rd Test Match Preview must begin with the completely renovated Motera Stadium which has now been the world’s largest stadium with a capacity of 1 lakh 10 thousand spectators. In this part, the stadium has been redesigned with an ultra-modern lighting system and sitting arrangements. The ground has been reconstructed in such a way that no water-logging will be on the ground even if the rainfall reaches 8 millimeters.

However, England fast bowler James Anderson who has already experience playing in 158 Tests and who played an instrumental role in England's 227-run victory in the opening Test, has commented that the pitch at Motera Stadium is also likely to help the spinners. The right-hand fast bowler, who has been training at the ground along with his teammates for the last couple of days, has mentioned that even though there is a nice cover of grass now, but according to Anderson that is unlikely to be there on the match-day. England won the opening Test by 227 runs while India bounced back in the 2nd Test with a 317-run victory thanks to a brilliant all-round show from R. Ashwin as well as a huge century from Rohit Sharma

India Vs England 3rd Test Match Preview also should mention that the Indian team seems to be a little concerned with the day-night Test with pink SG ball. Cricketer like Cheteswar Pujara has expressed the worry saying that they have so far taken part in only one day-night Test with pink SG ball. So, they have been concentrating on that issue while England batsman Zak Crawley has mentioned that England is more adept in playing with the Pink ball.

However, England has stuck to their rotation policy they have been maintaining following COVID-19  and that was the reason Anderson was replaced by Stuart Broad in the 2nd Test even though Anderson had a superb five-wicket in the first Test. England however, is getting their three important men like Jonny Bairstow, Mark Wood, and Zak Crawley. Only Ollie Pope might be dropped from the playing eleven.

India Vs England 3rd Test Match Preview, however, indicates the positive news in the Indian camp as Jasprit Bumrah who had to miss the 2nd test at Chepauk due to injury is coming back in the 3rd Test. The seasoned campaigner Ishant Sharma who is standing on the eve of playing his 100th Test also had rigorous training for the last couple of days. Umesh Yadav has also ensured his berth in the playing eleven after he has passed the fitness test for the 3rd Test. Yadav has replaced Shardul Thakur  to add strength to the three-member line-up comprising Bumrah, Ishant, and Mohammad Siraj

Incidentally, the president of India Ram Nath govind is likely to watch the Test match.
