Head-to-Head

After a cracker of a game last night, it’s time to move on to game number 6 of the Indian T20 cricket league! The start to this week has been fantastic and we are hoping that tonight’s match will be as exciting as last nights. In tonight’s Wednesday war, Sunrisers Hyderabad take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. So far, we have seen every team play a match each and we have seen how they have fared till now. Tonight,  Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore both play their second match in the tournament tonight. While on one hand, Hyderabad is coming off a loss against the Kolkata and on the other hand Bangalore are coming off a win against the Mumbai in the opener.  SRH has a formidable side, even though they made a few mistakes in their last outing against Kolkata, they still looked like a good side. They played well, gave their opponents an extraordinarily strong fight, losing the match by just 10 runs. So, we cannot rule their efforts out as they have every chance of making a good comeback in the match.

On the other hand, the Royal Challengers Bangalore will be cautious against the Sunrisers, given the fact they have won their first match and will be looking to continue a good run in the tournament by continuing their winning streak. They really need a title win this year and it clearly shows in their attitude, its refreshing to see them on the field.

Pitch Conditions

The last two matches played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium has assisted the spinners a lot, and this trend may continue through out this whole season. This wicket is being coined as slow so anything above 150 runs will be a competitive total for the team batting second. Team winning the toss must chose to field first, which will give them a lot of advantage as we have witnessed in the recent past.

Batting

SRH:

A batting line up which is headed by David Warner has a lot more talent in the depth of their ranks. There is a constant toss-up between Kane Williamson and Jonny Bairstow to take one overseas position in the team as David Warner already fills one and they also need someone like a Rashid Khan in their ranks which makes it an exceedingly difficult task to pick the right talent for a particular match. They also have roped in Kedar Jadhav in their squad this year, who is a handy contender in the middle. Apart from this they have plenty of good options like Priyam Garg, Jason Roy, Wriddhiman Saha and Jason Holder. Manish Pandey looked in sublime form in the previous match, he will be a key player tonight. David Warner failed to score last time so he will be looking score some runs early on in the match.

RCB:

The RCB have some really strong batsmen including the best batsmen in the world Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in their line-up and the good news is that Virat is back on the scoring sheet! If they want to go for some interesting options for tonight, there is Aron Finch and Moeen Ali and also a certain Josh Phillipe. Youngsters Devdutt Padikkal, Shivam Dube, Pawan Negi, Shahbaz Ahmed and Washington Sundar provide them plenty of options to choose from and these boys are getting good exposure.

Bowling:

SRH:

The return of India pace bowler Bhuvneshwar will strengthen their bowling attack, last season his injury was a major setback for the team, and they will be looking to make full use of him this year. He missed an important part of last year's IPL due to an injury. The right-arm pace bowler did well in the previous match although he looked a bit rusty.

Apart from Bhuvi, the SRH has the likes of Rashid Khan, Jason Holder and T Natarajan. Rashid Khan has been one of the world’s best T20 players recently and is an asset for his team while young Natarajan is a sensational bowling talent which everybody has already witnessed in the last season. The SRH pace attack as well as spin attack will be a challenge for RCB.

RCB:

The Bangalore team looks as strong in the bowling department as they are in the batting department. Navdeep Saini has been phenomenal to watch and did an exceptional job in their previous match, bowling in the death overs. Umesh Yadav is going through a rough patch but is still looking promising.  Mohammed Siraj and Kane Richardson add a lot of depth to the line-up while the star of the show this year has been Yuzvendra Chahal with some really good performances and the purple cap contender for his team.
