KKR V/S KXIP (24TH Match ) Pre-Match Analysis (Today’s Match Prediction Dream 11 )

Dream11 IPL 2020: Captain, Vice-captain, Fantasy gaming Tips, Probable Playing XIs for KKR - Kolkata vs KXIP - Punjab T20 Match at Sheik Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi 7:30 PM IST Sunday October 10

Head to Head

Now, can this weekend start off in a better way? Yes! Get ready for the double-header coming your way from the UAE. So, the day starts in Abu Dhabi where it’s the KKR - Kolkata vs KXIP - Punjab at the Sheik Zayed Stadium. The KKR are looking on a roll after they managed to choke CSK in their last game due to a slow pitch. Despite of all this, they must remember that their batsmen also struggled during the middle overs and hardly anyone could make an impression apart from Rahul Tripathi who gave them a really good start due on which they could build a competitive score. They really would want their batting line-up to stick together and fire as a collective unit, they cannot depend on one single good show every time. The good part is that their bowlers are doing a good job overall. All their spinners and pacers are firing some really good guns.

Punjab on the other hand, cannot find any answers to their worries as they lie at the bottom of the table. They have lost 5 out of their 6 matches and it is getting to horrify by the day. After a point, their batting was looking formidable but now it is difficult to say anything now after they bundled up for a mere 132 in their last match which could have been a lot lesser, had they not fought till the end with Pooran putting on the fastest fifty. Their opening pair Rahul and Mayank have been the only batsmen in some sort of form. The franchise might want to sit down and discuss a few things, most importantly Rahul’s approach in the power play because it is questionable at the moment. Bishnoi and Arshdeep are pulling things  somehow and Mujeeb might add value going forward. Their batsmen will have to gear up and get their game back because with every match they lose they are going far behind.

Pitch Conditions

The match will be played at the Sheik Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Here, Teams batting first have an upper hand generally. The pitch will be slow, and the ball does turn here a lot, so both teams will look to earn some extra runs at the beginning.

Moreover, dew will also play an important factor so whoever wins the toss will look to bat first. The ball will spin  and also help the medium pacers as it has in the past, which is good news for the KKR - Kolkata, given the fact that they have some really good pacers in their line-up.

Batting

KKR :

To start off their batting order, there is Shubman Gill is looking in great touch and may turn out to be one of their highest scorers this season. Nitish Rana has been providing good support at number 3. Sunil Narine has failed to fire at the top unlike previous seasons so he may get replaced by Tom Banton sooner or later. Eoin Morgan has been providing solid support in the middle and is capable of finishing games for them as we saw in the last match, but he has to come up the order. The area of concern here is skipper Dinesh Karthik who has looked really pale in the middle, the team would want him to make a good comeback. Of course, Andre Russel will have to come back to his natural game to help the team’s cause.

KXIP :

Captain KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal has been in an exceptional form and they both bring in a  lot of strength to the top order with Karun Nair backing them at number 3. Glenn Maxwell and Nicholas Pooran provide some power hitting in the middle but Pooran will have to better than what he is doing so far. James Neesham and Sarfaraz khan will add some stability at the tail and one of them will have to stick till the death overs to put pressure on the opposition.

Bowling

KKR :

In the first match, there were a few sparks of talent from youngster Shivam Mavi, but the team looked heavily relied on Pat Cummins. However, after 3 matches it would not be wrong to say that KKR are looking really strong in their bowling department with every bowler in top form. Especially Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi and Varun Chakravarthy, all three have shown exceptional performances and have proved that they are ready for the big stage. The problem is that these bowlers are young and may lose on the experience that their opposition holds, also they got smashed for a little more than 200 runs in their last outing. Big area of concern.

KXIP :

Mohammed Shami is leading the points table for the KXIP till now with the highest number of wickets under his belt and is a strong contender for the Purple cap when the tournament concludes, however these are still early days. Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi are both exciting talents and are looking in good touch, they will have to learn how contain the batsmen and restrict the sixes and fours and they are good to go. Last but not the least Sheldon Cottrell has shown some sparks at the beginning and can destroy any batting attack on his good day. Punjab will be hoping he fires some guns today and does his famous celebration.

History

Both teams have faced each other on 25 occasions in the IPL so far, and KKR holds a 17-8-win record over the KXIP. KKR have already won the trophy on two occasions and have also beaten KXIP in an IPL final. KXIP, on the other hand, are still looking for their first IPL title ever and need to do some serious analysis o9f if they want to make a comeback here. `

Match predictions:

KXIP have a well to do side. They have all the guns they need their arsenal, but the point is that nothing seems to work for them at the moment. Nicholas Pooran made a quickfire fifty in the last and the openers are doing whatever they can to keep the team afloat, but this isn’t enough to win a big match especially against the team they have lost more than half of the encounters. This is going to be one hell of a match for the Punjab team. They will have to be on their toes in every department to win this match.
KKR, on the other hand, are coming off a big win from their last encounter and ae high on confidence. They will look to dominate the game tonight and will do everything it takes to put points on the table.
