MI vs RR Today Match Prediction IPL 2021

MI V/S RR (Match 24) Pre-Match Analysis (Today’s Match Prediction) VIVO IPL 2021: Captain, Vice-captain, Fantasy gaming Tips, Probable Playing XIs for Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals T20 Match at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, 3:30 PM IST 29th April 25th, 2021

Head-to-Head

What a midweek-surprise! Two matches in one day, that too in the middle of the week! The first encounter of the midweek double header will be played between Mumbai and Rajasthan at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. Both teams have achieved the same number of wins till now, but RR has a bit of advantage here since they have played a match less than Mumbai. The royals ended their two-match losing streak with an amusing performance against the Kolkata Knight Riders. They showcased some tremendous bowling against the KKR batting line-up and then their captain saw them through. After the last match it is safe to say that their seam bowlers are finally living up to the expectations and Chris Morris has also understood his position in the middle.

Their batting was a reason of worry but since Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube have started contributing to the team’s cause. The problem now is that they are only left with four foreign players now and they might into the loan transfer window mid-season as it is open now. They are facing a team like Mumbai which is an extraordinarily strong team but let’s not forget that even they are coming off a two-match losing streak. The defending champions are having some real problems in the middle order, which is costing them games. Their batting order is simply known for some powerful hitting in the middle-order but that is simply not happening right now and is an area of concern. This is a new venue, so putting your finger on one team is hard here. The team that can utilize the turning track well will come out as winners.

Pitch Conditions

Only one match has been played here till now, so it will be hard to say how the pitch will react. The ball may have a little bit of turn here, so good news for spinners. However, batting will get easier as it gets late, after the due sets in. Both teams have exciting batting talent in their arsenal so expect a high scoring match. Any score above 150-170 will be a par score here.

Batting

MI:

Mumbai has the most sorted batting line- up. They have Rohit sharma and Quinton De Kock at the top. Then they have youngsters like Ishan Kishan and in-form Suryakumar Yadav. If a team goes past them , then comes the swashbuckling batsman Pollard and then the Pandya brothers at the tail end. It goes on and on till the very end. This means that whichever side is taking them on will have to be ready for some massive hitting and hope that this batting crumbles making blunders otherwise there is truly little chance.

RR:

Rajasthan royals look like a really formidable side when it comes to their batting. Their batting order starts really well with the likes of Sanju Samson and David Miller which is a strong point coming into a game like this when all other teams are scoring good runs and still those high scores are getting chased comfortably. They will be spoilt for choice with Jos Butler, Liam Livingstone, Ben stokes and Chris Morris.  If they choose their combinations right, they can notch up 200 hundred runs on the board easily and give Mumbai Indians a run for their money. Chris Morris will be a key player at the tail end, and they will be missing a few foreign players in today’s game.

Bowling

MI:

Their bowling department is looking strong enough to take on the Rajasthan Royals. Jasprit Bumrah has displayed why he is the best bowler in the world as he has been maintaining a low economy throughout and will be their go-to bowler in the death overs, there is no doubt about that. He’ll be accompanied by Trent boult and Nathan Coulter-Nile who could make a huge impact this season.  They have Piyush Chawla in the spin department and also young pacer Arjun Tendulkar. It will be interesting to see how they pick their mix of bowlers on this slow pitch. They haven’t picked Arjun yet and it will be interesting to see when that happens.

RR:

They have plenty of good options with Jofra Archer leading and Jaydev Unadkat leading their bowling attack. Along with that they have Mustafizur Rehman and Andrew Tye who can take they game away on a good day, while Kuldip Yadav, Mayank Markande, KC Cariappa provide them with plenty of options to choose from the spin department. The Wankhede is going to be a batting friendly pitch, they will have to make sure they play their cards right and utilize their spin resources as much as they can.

Match Prediction

Mumbai is the stronger team here with better players in both departments. However, both teams have lost the same number of games and both teams will be playing here at the Kotla for the first time this year, so we can expect a few surprises here.
