SRH V/S KXIP (22nd Match ) Pre-Match Analysis (Today’s Match Prediction Dream 11 )
Dream11 IPL 2020: Captain, Vice-captain, Fantasy gaming Tips, Probable Playing XIs for SRH - Hyderabad vs King XI Punjab T20 Match at Dubai International stadium 7:30 PM IST Sunday October 8
Head to Head
The IPL 2020 edition is getting more and more exciting by the day! Match number 22 of the league will see the SRH - Hyderabad take on the KXIP - Punjab. The Sunrisers started of their campaign with a loss but soon picked up a momentum and won back to back games to stay in the game. So far, they have won 2 out of their 5 games. On the other hand, the Punjab team’s campaign have been rather disappointing as they have won just one game till now out of their 5 games and will be desperately looking for a comeback in the tournament.
If we look at the Sunrisers, the biggest worry on their mind will be their star bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar being ruled out of the tournament and this is going to be a big blow for them as a team. Even though their young brigade comprising of Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma have shown some class in the past they have been over-reliant on their openers and that is worrisome going forward. Good news is that even after excluding Bhuvi from the squad they still have a line of bowlers who have been performing really well. Sandeep is bowling really well; Natarajan has been really good in the death overs and their trump card Rashid khan has been phenomenal with the ball as well.
The Punjab side, on the other hand, are going through a very pale patch and have been dismal since their lone win against the RCB. The are placed at the last position on the points table and will want start putting points on the table or they will lose out on the count very soon. Even though their top order is on song, their middle order has looked dicey and moreover, Maxwell is not scoring which is a big worry.
Pitch conditions
The match will be played at the Dubai International Cricket stadium, Dubai. Here, Teams batting first have an upper hand generally. The pitch will be considerably slow, but the ground is smaller, so both teams will look to earn some extra runs at the beginning. We have seen in the past that getting 200 runs on the board is not that hard on this ground.
Moreover, dew will also play an important factor in the second innings so whoever wins the toss will look to bat first. The ball will spin which is good news for both the teams, given the fact that both teams have some really good spinners in their line-up.
Batting
SRH :
SRH has fixed their batting line-up with Jonny Bairstow and David Warner at the top and Williamson coming in at number 3, but they are too much reliant on these guys. The good thing about this team is that they are full of all-rounders with Mohammed Nabi, Vijay Shankar, and Rashid Khan but the middle order is looking shaky. There is Manish Pandey who provides additional stability to the middle-order as always and there are some interesting young guns Abdul Samad and Abhishek Sharma and a prodigy Priyam Garg who has been in sublime touch. They will be hoping that all their star batsmen fire at the top and can take it deep right to the tail with at least one good batsman at the crease.
KXIP :
Captain KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal has been in an exceptional form and they both bring in a lot of strength to the top order with Karun Nair backing them at number 3. The problem is that if any one of them fails to fire then the middle order is not looking strong enough to support a big score.
Glenn Maxwell and Nicholas Pooran are big names for T20, but the problem is they are not scoring! And you cannot win an IPL match without a scoring runs. James Neesham and Sarfaraz khan will add some stability at the tail and one of them will have to stick till the death overs to put pressure on the opposition although, that hasn’t been the case so far.
Bowling
SRH :
SRH has always been looked at as one of the best bowling attacks the league. They have always maintained the discipline in their bowling attack in the past and were looking really good this season until a tragedy shook them mid-match. Their star bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar fell down because of a bad cramp and they got bad news that he has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament. Rashid Khan is in a sublime form and will be their go-to bowler. Also, both Khaleel Ahmed and Thangarasu Natarajan are looking to make a mark with latter hitting half a dozen Yorkers every match. They also hold some interesting talent on the bench with the likes of Siddharth Kaul, Shahbaz Nadeem and Sandeep sharma who has looked really good. They will have to fire today to restrict Punjab to a lower total than expected.
KXIP :
Mohammed Shami was leading the points table in this edition a few matches ago with the highest number of wickets under his belt and may still be strong contender for the Purple cap when the tournament concludes, however these are early days and he will look to take wickets. Krishnappa Gowtham and Ravi Bishnoi are both exciting talents but are looking in a rough patch, they will have to learn how contain the batsmen and restrict the sixes and fours because that is not happening at all. Last but not the least Sheldon Cottrell has shown some sparks at the beginning and can destroy any batting attack on his good day. Punjabis giving away too many runs in the death and that is their biggest problem.
History
SRH and KXIP have faced each other on 14 occasions in the IPL so far, SRH holds a 10-4 head to head win record over KXIP. SRH have also won the IPL title once whereas KXIP have never lifted the trophy and will be eager to put themselves in a situation from where they can move on to the knock-out stage. If we look at the history, SRH holds a much stronger record over the latter and this may come into effect when both teams go against each other this Thursday.
