TOP MALE VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS

A sport played with a ball. This is a team sport, played by two teams against each other. Each team contains six players and in between them, there is a net and some boundaries around them. Each player of the team tries to score points against their opponent so that they can win.


After 1964 Tokyo, this sport became officially a part of the Olympic Games. This game was first played in 1895 and was held at Holyoke, United States. The highest governing authority of Volleyball is FIVB which means International Volleyball Federation.

1.    Charles Frederick Kiraly

The first player in the list is Kiraly, also recognized by the name “Karch”. He is a professional volleyball player from America who was born on the 3rd of November in 1960.


Kiraly won gold in 1986 at the World Championships which was held in France. He also achieved gold at the FIVB World Cup held in Japan in 1985. He currently gives training to the United States national volleyball team of women.

 

  1. Lorenzo Bernardi

The second player on the list is Lorenzo; he is a professional volleyball player from Italy. He was born on the 11th of August 1968. He also served as the coach of the volleyball team.

 

His debut internationally was on the 27th of May in 1987. In 1994 he was elected as the best player at the World Championships. Next year in 1995, he also won the European Championship. In 2001 he was also declared the “Volleyball Player of the Century” by FIVB.

 

3.    Hugo Conte

Third, on the list is Hugo, a player from Argentina. He was born on the 14th of April 1963. He is now retired from the game. He is currently the coach at Italy in Volley Cavriago.

He represented his nation at the Olympic Games around three times. He also won a bronze at the Olympic Games in 1988 which was held in Seoul, South Africa. He also achieved bronze at the World Championships in 1982 which was held in Argentina.

 

4.    Renan Dal Zotto

Next on the list is Renan, a professional player from Brazil. He was born on the 19th of July 1960. He is currently giving training to the national men’s volleyball team of Brazil.


At the age of sixteen, he made his debut in the national team in the year 1976. His career span is of around ten years from 1979 till the year 1989. He achieved silver in the Olympic Games in 1984 and in 1982 he achieved silver at the World Championship held in Argentina.

 

5.    Katsutoshi Nekoda

Last on the list is Katsutoshi, a professional player from Japan. He was born on the 1st of February in 1944 and died on the 4th of September in 1983.

 

He achieved a gold medal at the Olympic Games in 1972 which was held in Munich. He was an important part of the men's national volleyball team of Japan. He was the inventor of the ceiling serve. He retired in 1980 and died after three years due to Cancer.
