Who has the best batting average in ODIs in the world today?
Batting the average is referred to the total number of runs a batsman has scored divided by the number of times they have been out, usually given to two decimal places. The numbers of runs scored by the player and how often they get out are what determines their playing ability. It is the best method to measure an individual’s batting skills. Each player usually has various batting averages, with a different figure calculated for each type of format they play (First Class, one-day, Test Matches, List A, T20, etc.), and every player's batting average may be calculated for individual seasons or series, or at particular grounds, against particular opponents, or throughout their whole career.
Calculating the batting average has been used to gauge cricket players' relative skills since the 18th century. Batting average is usually subject to a minimum qualification of 20 innings played or completed. Under this criteria, the highest Test batting average belongs to Australia's Sir Donald Bradman, with 99.94. A career batting average over 50 is considered to be exceptional and only five other players have averaged over 60. Bradman's average is so far above that of any other cricketer, which is why he can easily be called the greatest athlete to represent any sport.
