Farokh Engineer says he also faced racist remarks in England

Yorkshire's former Pakistani cricketer Azeem Rafiq's sensational demonstration to the Parliamentary Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) panel on Tuesday on the continuous racism he had to encounter during his playing career with Yorkshire has rocked English cricket. Similarly, another former star Indian cricketer, Farokh Engineer who later represented Lancashire for a long time in the 1970s and has been living in England also had to face racist remarks while doing commentary there in England. The engineer who was one of the heroes in India's maiden test series victory against England in 1971 has recently revealed that he also had to face discrimination when he started commentary for BBC's Test Match special team. Engineer at the same time gave thanks to two of his fellow legendary commentators Brian Johnson and Christopher Martin Jenkins for having protected him.
