Rashid khan appeals for peaceful Afghanistan-Pakistan clash
Afghanistan will be meeting Pakistan in the ongoing Twenty20 World Cup on Friday. The two teams last met at Headingley two years ago where Pakistan won but the result was overshadowed by violence and pitch invasion by the fans of both teams. The players needed security escorts off the pitch as the violent fans poured out of the terraces. Afghanistan's star spinner Rashid Khan has pleaded with both the teams' fans to behave properly so that repetition of Headingley violence does not take place. Rashid quoted, "I request all the fans to stay cool and calm and just enjoy the game. It should not happen at all what happened in 2019."
