Early signs

Under the tutelage of Pravin Amre, Lad advanced smoothly through the age-group cricket in Mumbai before making his debut in first-class cricket in November 2013 at the of 21 years. He impressed just in the second match of the season, scoring a splendid half-century against Delhi. The bowling line of Delhi was led by former Indian international Ashish Nehra. But Lad's smooth journey in first-class cricket was hampered by frequent injuries. Lad came back to main-stream cricket after a couple of seasons and He was the leading run-scorer in Ranji Trophy in 2017-18 scoring 652 runs in 7 matches. Lad touched the milestone, reaching 3000 runs in first-class cricket while batting against Railways in the 2018 Ranji Trophy. Lad was also instrumental in Mumbai's victory, scoring 88 and setting a 103-run partnership in the last wicket-stand. IPL career

Siddhesh Lad was selected by the Mumbai Indians in 2015. But he was not played. He had spent useful time with the top international batsmen of Mumbai Indians and batted against the team's international bowlers at the nets. Later he had revealed that he was benefitted a lot by spending time at the Mumbai Indians’ nets. He was purchased by Mumbai Indians finally in 2018 and made his IPL debut in 2019. Lad played only a single match and scored 15 runs. But the interesting part was that he could be able to hit a huge six within that 15.

T20 Career

Siddhesh Lad made his debut in Twenty20 format in the domestic circuit in 2013 against Baroda at Ahmadabad. The batsman, primarily suitable for the longer format, had to struggle to settle in the limited-over and the shortest-format of the game. That is why he failed to score in his maiden T20 match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. However, he has played in 48 matches and scored 730 runs at a strike rate of 121.06 including his best score of 82.
