Rahul Tripathi is an Indian cricketer. He was born on 2nd March 1991 at Ranchi, Jharkhand. He is a top-order right-hand batsman. His father is in the army and his father also used to play cricket, representing Uttar Pradesh in the junior level as well as playing in University cricket.

Rahul Tripathi had already earned fame by hitting six sixes in local cricket twice.

Early signs

Rahul Tripathi started getting formal training at Pune's one of the oldest cricket clubs Deccan Gymkhana. His journey towards mainstream cricket began in 2012 when he made his debut for Maharashtra against Baroda in a Ranji Trophy match at Pune. But Tripathi with the opportunity of batting only in the first innings was not exceptional as he scored 24 playing 90 deliveries. Even though he failed to shine in his maiden season (only 185 runs in 11 matches), Tripathi broke through with runs from 2016-17. He was the leading run-scorer in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy with 504 runs in 8 matches. Rahul Tripathi has played in 44 first-class matches and scored 2359 runs at an average of 33.22 including his best score of 132. In the List ‘A’ game Tripathi has played in 36 matches and scored 928 runs with his highest score of unbeaten 125.

Rahul Tripathi made his debut in the IPL for Rising Pune Super Giants in 2017. He scored 391 runs in 17 matches that season. He has played 45 matches in total and scored 988 runs including 5 fifties and the highest score of 93. He has been bought by KKR for Rs 60 lakhs in the auction for 2021 IPL.

T20 Career

Rahul Tripathi has played in 86 Twenty20 matches in the domestic circuit and scored 1752 runs including his highest score of 93.
