Nikhil Naik is an Indian cricketer. He was born on 9th November 1994 in Maharashtra. The 26-year-old cricketer is primarily a batsman and he occasionally stands behind the wicket.
Nikhil had to overcome a lot of struggles in his early days. He lost his mother in 2010 who was suffering from paralysis. His father was a fish vendor. Nikhil's father, who had to struggle a lot to survive his family, had to borrow money to pay for Nikhil's cricket kits.

Nikhil had led Maharashtra in the under-16 and under-19 levels. Being the captain of both the age group state teams, Nikhil has won national titles. At the senior level, the batsman started his journey with List 'A' cricket first in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Gujrat in 2014. In his opening match, Nikhil was LBW to Jasprit Bumrah for 36, scored off 53 deliveries. However, he earned prominence in his maiden season in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring 234 runs in only four matches at an impressive average of 58.50. Nikhil has so far participated in one first-class match. That was in against Railways in a Ranji Trophy match in 2019. But Nikhil was out for zero in the first innings and 3 in the second innings.
Nikhil Naik began his journey in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2016 after being bought by Kings XI Punjab in the 2015 mini-auction for Rs 30 lakh. In his maiden season in the IPL, Naik was played in only 2 matches and he scored 23 runs. Then He was purchased by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for 2019 IPL and has been retained by the franchise team for Rs 20 lakh. In the IPL Naik has played in 4 matches and scored 31 runs.
Nikhil Naik made his debut in domestic Twenty20 in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Gujrat in 2013. He exhibited a decent 52 off 34 deliveries, hitting 3 fours and 4 sixes at a strike rate of 152.94. Even though Gujrat won the match by 8 wickets Nikhil showed his aggression with the willow. He has participated in 55 T20 matches so far and scored 921 runs at a strike rate of 127.73 including his highest score of unbeaten 95.
