Dawid Malan overview
Dawid Malan was born on 3rd Sep 1987 in Roehampton, England. Malan has been a consistent performer for the Middlesex team more than a decade and has received national honors. Although his first-class average was middling somewhere around 37.80, he has played a particularly important role for Middlesex County team and has contributed with more than 11,000 runs in first class cricket. He has 25 hundred to his name and 59 half centuries in the format. Malan also has 59 wickets and a 5-wicket haul to his name and a top score of 199 runs. He made his arrival memorable by hitting 103 runs off 51 balls, which was termed ‘as one of the finest ever T20 innings by a 20-year old’ by his then Middlesex captain, Ed Joyce.
Malan was named in England's Twenty20 International squad in June 2017 for the series against South Africa. On 25 June 2017, he made 78 on his debut for England against South Africa. England won that match and Malan was awarded man of the match for his batting performance.
Malan was picked for England's Test squad in July 2017 ahead of the third Test against South Africa. On 27 July 2017, he made his Test debut and got bowled out by a yorker by Kagiso Rabada and could make just 1 run in that match. In the 2017-18 Ashes series which the Australians won 4-0, Malan stood out as England’s best batsman in the series. He scored his maiden Test century during the 3rd Test at the WACA in Perth. Malan’s century was the first in the series from the side of the England team.

Early signs
Malan did not achieve the heights in first-class cricket until 2014 that he finished one season with an average greater than 40. 2016 and this turned out to be a turning point in his career. Malan also hit an unbeaten 126-ball 185 against Sri Lanka A in Northampton - this turned out to be a record score for the Lions.
ODI Career
Malan made his ODI debut against Ireland at The Village on May 03, 2019. This turned out to be his only match till date. He scored 24 runs in the match at a strike rate of 80.0 hitting 3 boundaries.
Test career
Malan made his test debut on 27th July in 2017 against south Africa at Kennington Oval. In July 2017, Malan was picked for England's Test squad, ahead of the third Test against South Africa. Malan made his Test debut for England as the no. 5 batsman. He made just 1 run, before being bowled out by a yorker from Kagiso Rabada. He has played in 10 matches till date, and has scored 469 runs to his name and has an impressive strike rate of 153.77 and high score of 103 which is the world record for the highest ever individual score when batting at number 6 in a T20.
