Evin Lewis overview
Evin Lewis is a left-handed opening batsman who was born in Rio Claro, Trinidad on 27th Dec 1991 and plays for the West Indies National cricket team. Lewis Is recognized as the third batsman in the world to score two T20 centuries. Lewis hit a 48-ball hundred against India in his second T20I and went on to be the Man of the Match in the narrow one-run win for his national team. Lewis’s second T20I hundred also came against India, when he hit 125* at Sabina Park on 9 July 2017.
Lewis has represented the West Indies in the 2010 Under -19 world cup. He made his debut in first-class cricket for the Trinidad and Tobago in March 2012, in the Regional four-day competition. He then went on represented the Trinidad team in the Champions league T20 in south Africa, where he played just one match.
In February 2018, Lewis as one of the ten players to watch ahead of the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament named by the International Cricket Council (ICC). In June 2018, Lewis was awarded the T20 International Cricketer of the Year at the annual Cricket West Indies' Awards. In April 2019, he was picked in the West Indies' squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

Early signs
Lewis scored 211 runs from five innings in the 2103 champions league, he came out as the highest scorer for his team and sixth overall. His tournament highlights were scores of 70 off 35 balls against the South Africa’s Titans and 62 off 46 balls in the semi-final against the MI - Mumbai. In the 2014 Caribbean Premier League, Lewis was signed by the T&T Red Steel franchise, he scored 321 runs from eight innings which stood out as the most for his team, and seventh overall. Lewis moved to the new St Kitts and Nevis Patriots franchise for the 2015 edition, he again emerged as the third highest run getter for his team behind Marlon Samuels and Martin Guptill.
ODI Career
Lewis made his ODI debut against Pakistan on 5th October 2016. He scored his first international hundred against sri Lanka at the Harare sports club, he smashed 148 runs in that match. The knock included 4 sixes and 15 fours. The most impressive fact is that he played this match while having cramps and it was commendable how he kept on batting, despite all his might he could not carry West Indies to a record chase Victory. Elvin has played 50 ODI matches in which he has scored 1610 runs for West Indies at an average of 35.0, he has three impressive hundreds to his name.

IPL career
Lewis made his IPL debut for the MI - Mumbai against the CSK - Chennai at Wankhede Stadium on 7th April 2018 and has played in 16 IPL matches since then. He has scored 430 runs in the tournament till date at a strike rate of 131.1 and has two fifties to his name.
T20 Career
Lewis made his T20 debut against Afghanistan at Vidarbha Cricket Association on 27th March 2016. In the second match of his T20 career Lewis scored a 100 off 48 balls which was the second fastest by a West Indian and sixth fastest overall. During this Innings he hit 5 sixes in 5 balls. He also won ‘Man of the Match’ in this match. He made his second T20I hundred on 9 July 2017 against India at Sabina Park where he hit 125*, which is recorded as the highest score in a T20I chase. Lewis also became the third and the fastest batsman to two international T20 tons.
