Mayank Markande made his debut in first-class cricket in the Ranji Trophy match against Andhra at Visakhapatnam in 2018. In his maiden appearance in Ranji Trophy, Mayank drew attention with both ball and bat. In the drawn match Mayank obtained the opportunity to participate in the first innings as he scored 68 off 187 deliveries, hitting six fours and one six. Mayank became the highest wicket-taker of Punjab that season with 29 dismissals in six matches. He has played 17 first-class matches ad scalped 59 wickets at an economy rate of 2.78 including his best figure of 8 wickets for 84 runs in a match. Mayank made his debut in List ‘A’ cricket in Vijay Hazare Trophy against Haryana in the same year in 2018. Mayank did not get the opportunity to bat but captured 2 wickets at the cost of 37 runs in 10 overs. The match however was won by Haryana. The cricketer has played in 38 List ‘A’ matches and scalped 64 wickets with his best bowling figure of 4 for 25.
Mayank Markande had begun his journey in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2018, being purchased by Mumbai Indians. In his opening match against Chennai Super Kings, Mayank had an impressive show, capturing three wickets. He scalped 15 wickets in 14 matches that season for Mumbai. Mayank Markande who has bagged 16 wickets in 17 matches in the IPL at an economy rate of 8.54 is currently playing for Rajasthan Royals.
