Anuj Rawat overview

Anuj Rata is an Indian cricketer. He was born on 17th October 1999 at Ram Nagar, Uttarakhand. He is a left-hand batsman and wicket-keeper. Anuj hails from a small Roopur near Ram Nagar. His father used to play cricket and also used to dream that his son would also play cricket. There was no sporting infrastructure at Anuj’s village. So he was compelled to join a small cricket academy at Ram Nagar, 5 kilometers from his village. But finally following the academy coach's advice Anuj shifted from Ram Nagar to New Delhi where he was admitted to Bal Bhawan School. In the beginning, Anuj used to live with his uncle and then started staying at a rented flat with his elder brother.

In Delhi, Anuj began to learn the basics of the game at West Delhi Cricket Academy under the tutelage of Virat Kohli’s coach Raj Kumar Sharma and from then he never looked back. His father was having a financial crisis to continue with his son's training. A portion of a loan, taken by Anuj’s father was diverted to provide Anuj’s training facilities.
