Travis Head overview

Travis Michael Head was born on 29th Dec 1993 in Adelaide, South Australia is an Australian Cricketer who plays domestic matches for the South Australia and Adelaide Strikers. He prefers to bat at the middle order to anchor and finish an inning.

Travis got momentum at a very early age of his life, when he was going to represent Australia in the U-19 Cricket World Cup 2012. In 2015, due to his consistency for the South Australia's Sheffield Shield side, he became the captain of the team.

Early signs

Travis already holds a great domestic career. Then, he was selected by the national selectors in the Australia’s squad for a series of Twenty20 Internationals against India. On 26th Jan 2016 he made his T20 debut against India. He was selected for a tri-series against West Indies, where he made his ODI debut on 13th June 2016 at Warner Park. Travis has gained that reputation to be in the list of National selectors.

ODI Career

Travis made his ODI debut on 13th June 2016 against West Indies where he just scored a single run before being caught off by Ramdin. He has played over 42 ODI matches from where he has earned 1273 runs by including a Hundred, 10 Fifties, 135 fours and 16 sixes at a strike rate of 90.03 and has also scalped 12 wickets at an economy rate of 5.78.

Test career

The Cricket Australia selected Travis in the Australia’s Test squad for their series against Pakistan in September 2018. On 7th October 2018 he got the chance to made his Test debut in the series. He has played 17 Test matches from which he has scored 1091 runs.

IPL career

Few months later of his T20 debut, he made his IPL debut against Mumbai Indians for the Royal Challengers Bangalore on 20th April 2016. Similar to his T20I career, he has played a few matches in IPL as well. In his IPL career, he has played 10 matches and scored 205 runs in them.

T20 Career

Travis’ first international match was in the T20 format, when he made his debut against India on 26th January 2016. However, he didn’t get many chances in the shortest format of International cricket. He has played in 16 matches and scored 319 runs at a strike rate of 130.2.

ICC Trophies

The young man was selected for their Test series against India in November 2020. He needs more opportunities in the international cricket to enhance his ability in all the formats of cricket.
