Kyle Mayers overview

Kyle Mayers was born on 8th September 1992 in Barbados. He is an all-rounder with a left-arm bat and right-arm medium pace. The 28-year-old all-rounder regularly represents Barbados in domestic cricket. Kyle Mayers has recently revealed that his biggest achievement so far is his five-year-old daughter. At the age of only 21 years, Kyle Mayers and his girlfriend Nykita Layne had given birth to a child. Kyle the all-rounder has disclosed that it was not planned but god's blessing. Kyle has stated that his daughter has been extremely intelligent and decent in attitude. Kyle always feels proud of his daughter.

But two years ago, when Kyle was 26 years old, the relationship with his girlfriend Nykita had broken up and their daughter is being cared for by her mother. Kyle has also made huge appreciation and credit to her former girlfriend for looking after their daughter as he is away from home for most of the time.

Early signs

Kyle Mayers had represented West Indies in the under-19 World Cup in 2012. He had an inspiring show there in the mega-event for his country with consistent scores like 76, an unbeaten 55 and 39, and 30 off 37 balls against Zimbabwe. Mayers had debuted in first-class cricket in 2015 for the Windward Islands. But he was a failure in his maiden appearance. Playing against Guyana, Mayers was out for a duck and with the ball, he captured only one wicket giving away 44 runs in 12 overs. The all-rounder looked settled in the first-class game gradually. Almost after eight years, Kyle Mayers achieved his maiden first-class century this year in West Indies Championship on its opening day. Kyle Mayers was also chosen by Barbados to participate in the regional Super50 Championship this year. The all-rounder has so far taken part in 32 first-class matches and from his 53 innings, Kyle has amassed 1418 runs with an average of 28.93 including 2 centuries and 12 fifties where his highest score has been 140. Kyle Mayers has also participated in 56 List ‘A’ matches so far and gleaned 1080 runs including 1 hundred and 4 fifties.

ODI Career


Test career

Kyle Mayers got a berth among the 11 reserve players in West Indies Test squad for their series against England in June 2020. However, the series, due to the COVID-19 pandemic had been postponed to July. Mayer himself knew that he would not get an opportunity to be in the first eleven in any of the three-Test series. Still, he has revealed that it has been one of the most important experiences that would help him to prosper shortly.

IPL career


T20 Career

Kyle Mayers has got the opportunity to participate in two Twenty20 international matches so far. He made his debut in the second T20 International against New Zealand at Mount Maunganui in November this year. But he failed to draw the attention of the cricket fraternity as with the ball he was expensive, giving away 10 runs from just 1 over and he scored only 20 from 14 balls, being able to hit 2 huge sixes. He was selected by Barbados Trident in the Caribbean Premier League this year. He has taken part in 61 T20 matches so far and from his 54 innings, Mayers has scored 688 runs with an impressive strike rate of 110.78 where his highest score is 85.
