Early signs
Glenn Phillips had to struggle in the early of his career. Having made his debut in first-class cricket in 2017 for Auckland against Canterbury Phillips failed to shine, getting out for only 4 runs playing in 13 balls. Even, in his opening 'List A' match in the Ford Trophy against Central Districts two years before in 2015 Glenn Phillips was not able to catch attention, being out for only 6 runs. His rise was shown in the following years as Phillips became the top scorer of Super Smash with 369 runs including a tempestuous 116 off 57 deliveries against Central Districts. The wicket-keeper batsman also placed his name in another high point, being the only Kiwi batsman to have scored centuries in all three formats in the domestic cricket of New Zealand within one cricket season. In first-class cricket, Glenn Phillips has so far participated in 34 matches and gathered 2101 runs including six centuries and 13 fifties at an average of 39.64 while in the 'List A' cricket Phillips, participating in 37 matches so far has scored 1249 runs at an average of 34.69 including four centuries and two fifties.

T20 Career
Glenn Phillips has not yet made his debut in the One-Day International. Rather having produced consistency in white-ball cricket Phillips had begun to turn heads since 2016 Super Smash Twenty20 tournaments. In the very next year, his performance helped him ensure a berth in the New Zealand T20 squad against South Africa after Martin Guptill was ruled out of the injury. However, Phillips was not able to impress, returning to the pavilion after scoring only 5 runs in 11 balls as an opening batsman. However, he struck his maiden century in T20I in the 2nd match against West Indies in November 2020. It was also the fastest century scored by a New Zealand batsman, scored in 46 deliveries. Phillips was finally out for 108, scored in 51 balls. Glenn Phillips has participated in 17 T20Is and scored 324 runs at an average of 24.92. His strike rate has been highly impressed with 137.28 so far. In T20 cricket Glenn Phillips has played 99 matches and scored 2735 runs at an average of 31.80 including four centuries and 16 fifties. In his stint with Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League this year Glenn Phillips had scored formidable 457 runs in 11 matches including one 103 off 63 deliveries.
