Olly Stone is an English cricketer. His full name is Oliver Peter Stone. He was born on 9th October 1993 in Norwich. He is a right-arm fast bowler and a right-hand batsman. Olly Stone earned importance in the English cricket fraternity through his fiery pace. He was an unprocessed fast bowler, having been able to deliver at a speed more than 140 kilometers per hour.
But in the midway of his cricket journey, Oliver Stone's career was halted by severe injury as he had damaged anterior cruciate ligaments and the cartilage while landing awkwardly to celebrate the wicket of Moeen Ali in a county championship match in 2016 and he was ruled out of the remaining part of the whole season.

Early signs
Oliver Stone was already playing in the minor county championship for his native Norfolk County Club since 2011. His first match was against Bedfordshire. He participated in his maiden County championship match against Yorkshire in 2012. But he could not impress as being able to capture only 1 wicket at the cost of 76 runs in 16 overs. Being associated as a student of Northampton shire academy Stone also made his debut in List ‘A’ cricket in the same year Warwickshire. But he was wicket-less in the match. But he developed his bowling later within the next couple of years and posed a real threat to the batsmen in the County Championship matches. He was selected in England’s under-19 squad to play against under-19 South Africa in 2013. Stone stole the limelight there also in the series, especially at Paarl where he rocked South African batting by scalping 11 wickets for only 79 runs. It was in 2013. As its reflection Stone was selected in England's performance Programmed development camp, held in South Africa in 2015. After coming back Oliver Stone became the talk of the town, especially after one of his quickest bowling against Kent where Stone bagged 5 wickets for 44 runs. Oliver Stone has claimed 130 wickets from 38 first-class matches so far where his best bowling figure has been 11 wickets for 96 runs in a match and in the List, 'A' game Stone has captured 24 wickets from 30 matches so far.
ODI Career
Oliver Stone made his debut in One Day International in 2018 against Sri Lanka at Dambulla. But he did not get the opportunity of bowling as the match was abandoned after England played 15 overs and scored 92 for 2. Stone has played in only 4 ODIs and bagged only 1 wicket.
Test career
Oliver Stone has been to participate in the only Test so far. That was against Ireland in 2019. He had a decent bowling figure in the Test. Oliver Stone bagged 3 wickets for 29 runs in 12 overs in the only innings he obtained to bowl. After recovering from a severe knee injury and coming back to the mainstream cricket Stone had been bowling at envious speed (around 92 miles per hour) but lost the previous sharpness in accuracy and variety.

Oliver Stone has not yet taken part in Twenty20 International. Rather he has participated in 51 T20 matches in the domestic cricket so far and been able to capture 48 wickets including his best of 3 wickets for 22 runs.
