Early signs
As a cricketer, Beek’s game is compared to Australian all-rounder Shane Watson. The all-rounder also had donned New Zealand shirts in the World under-19 Basketball in 2009 and interestingly Beek works as a sports coach. Logan van Beek is the grandson of Sammy Guillen, the man to have represented both New Zealand and the West Indies. Beek was also named in the New Zealand squad under-19 squad for the under-19 World Cup in 2010.
However, having played in 98 T20 matches so far, Beek has scored 327 runs and captured 86 wickets. Beek has taken part in 61 first-class matches and scored 1479 runs including the top score of unbeaten 111. He also has claimed 155 wickets in as many matches. In the List ‘A’ cricket Beek has scored 604 runs in 75 matches and scalped 87 wickets.
