World Test Championship 2021

This is going to go down in the history as one of longest running tournament in Cricket as it being is being played over two years. The rules are that each team play six other opponents, three at home and three on away turfs. Each series comprises of two and five Test matches. This is why, all the teams who are set to participate do not play the same number of Test matches but will definitely play the same number of series. When the league comes to an end, the top two finishing teams will then play in the final. Each test match will be played for a duration of five days. Australia postponed their away series against South Africa on 2 February 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted a guaranteed spot in the final for New Zealand. India also confirmed their spot in the final, after beating England by 3–1 in a home test series in the month of March 2021.

The 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship is set to become the inaugural edition of the ICC World Test Championship of Test cricket. This tournament began on 1st August 2019 with the first Test of the 2019 Ashes series between England and Australia. Now, India and New Zealand are set to play the final on June 18th at the Rose Bowl, Southampton. The match is well spoilt and both teams are equally strong and deserving, it will be interesting to see who wins the first ever world Test Championship!
