Founded in 2008, The CSK - Chennai is the franchise team representing the Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The team plays hosts its home matches at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium located in Chennai.

The Super Kings have lifted the IPL trophy three times in the history of IPL in 2010, 2011 and 2018 respectively, and holds the highest win percentage among all teams in the IPL. The team also holds the records of most appearances in the playoffs win 10 such occurrences and 8 Finals of the IPL. They are the only IPL team to qualify for the playoff stage in every season of their appearance in the league. The team has also won the Champions League Twenty20 in twice in 2010 and 2014, respectively.
