First WPL to be held on 4th March
According to the statement given by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) today, GG (Gujarat Giants) will be playing against MI (Mumbai Indians). The date has been finalized which is on 4th of March, 2023. The first WPL (Women Premier League) is going to be held at the DY Patil Stadium which is in Maharashtra, in Navi Mumbai.
Today, the BCCI has announced the full list of the Women's Premier League matches that will start from 4th March. This announcement is done after the successful auction took place on 13th of March, Monday. The auction was held in Mumbai on Monday and the auction was completed very peacefully.
The statement given by BCCI today also states that, the Women’s Premier Leagues inaugural season would be featuring the total of around twenty league matches. The BCCI also said the two playoff contests will be held in the gap of twenty three days.
The statement also says that the first double header match will take place in between Royal Challengers Bangalore against the Delhi Capitals team in the morning time on 5th March, 2023 which will be held at the Brabourne Stadium. And at the same day in the evening time the second match will take place in between UP Warriorz against the team Gujarat Giants which will take place at the DY Patil Stadium.
The statement also includes that the first match will begin at 3.30 PM in the midday and there will be in total four double headers. In the evening at the time 7.30 PM, all of the evening matches will get underway.
The statement further added that the last and final match is to be played between the UP Warriorz and the Delhi Capitals team.
The final match is going to be held on 21st March 2023, at the Brabourne Stadium. Next, on the 24th of March 2023 the DY Patil Stadium will again be hosting the team eliminator after the last and final match.

There are a total five WPL teams named Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, UP Warriorz and the last team named Royal Challengers Bangalore. These teams in the coming days will be showing some of the amazing talents on the ground.
Smriti Mandhana, a dynamic women cricketer from India herself was the top buy of yesterday’s auction. She was taken by the team Royal Challengers Bangalore with 3.40 crore, the highest amount of the auction. The current captain of the Indian Cricket team, Harmanpreet Kaur was taken by the team Mumbai Indians with 1.80 crore.
From the foreign players, Ashleigh Gardner who is an all rounder from Australian team and the other player named Natalie Sciver was in second position in the top buyers taken by the team Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians respectively. They were taken by both the teams with the amount of 3.20 crore.
