WPL Auction Highlights of 2023
WPL (Women’s Premier League) is going to be held soon. Today, 13th February 2023, an auction was held for the women players and it went very well. Smriti Mandhana has been considered as the costliest player with 3.4 crore, which is the highest price from the entire players.
Smriti Mandhana will be playing for the RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) team, in the WPL (Women’s Premier League). She is the opening batsmen of the team. Harmanpreet Kaur will be playing for the Mumbai team with the 1.8 crore. The team owners today had a very hard time as they were about to choose the players for their team.
The auction was held in Mumbai today, which is on Monday. Ashleigh Gardner who is an Australian all rounder player, has been taken by the owner of the GG (Gujarat Giants, with 3.2 crore. Another player named Natalie Sciver, a player from England has been taken by the MI (Mumbai Indians) team with the 3.2 crore.
Deepti Sharma, again an all rounder player from India itself was taken by the UP Warriorz, with 2.6 crore. A player named Jemimah Rodrigues, who has recently played against the Pakistan team and hit a half century against the team has been taken by DC (Delhi Capitals) with 2.2 crore. DC also took Shafali Verma in their team with two crores.

The Indian team was taken by Mumbai with 1.8 crore. The RCB, commonly called Royal Challengers Bangalore Team also took two players named Ellyse Perry with 1.7 crore and another player named Renuka Singh with 1.5 crore. A player named Devika Vaidya will be now playing for the UP (Uttar Pradesh) as they have taken her with 1.4 crore.
Amelia Kerr, another dynamic player to be playing for the MI (Mumbai Indians) team of IPL as she has been taken by the team for nearly one crore. Another player named Richa Ghosh to be playing for the RCB, a team from Bangalore with 1.9 crore. The auction ended on a good note, with eighty seven players to be sold out by the different IPL teams.
There were some players too, who have joined the team by taking some low amount like in lakhs. A player named Megan Schutt will be joining RCB team by taking forty lakhs. Another women player named Shabnam Shakil will be going to join the team of Gujarat by just taking with her an amount of ten lakhs.
With just a price of ten lakhs, both the women players Sonam Yadav and another player named Jintimani Kalita will be joining the Mumbai Indians team. RCB team also took Neelam Bisht at just a price of ten lakhs and Komal Zanzad with an amount of twenty five lakhs. At last, the player named Sahana Panwar also goes in the RCB team with an amount of ten lakhs.
