CSK vs SRH Match Highlights IPL 2021

CSK acquires convincing 7-wicket victory, sits again on the top of League table

Amidst the rampaging aggression of Covid-19 in New Delhi, the city’s Arun Jaitley Stadium organized the first IPL match on Wednesday, and in the 23rd match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) trounced Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 7 wickets with 9 balls remaining, reinstalling itself on the top of the League table with 10 points in 6 matches. Going by the statistics, CSK has won five consecutive matches in the League after 2014. In reply to SRH’s 171 for the loss of 3 wickets, CSK scored 173, having lost 3 wickets in 18.3 overs.

Today, CSK started in style, losing the first wicket at 129 in the 13th over with Rituraj Gaikwad once again exhibiting an aggressive 44-ball 75 with an inspiring strike rate of 170.45, hitting 12 fours. In the non-striking end, Faf du Plessis also gave him perfect support by scoring 38-ball 56 at a strike rate of 147.36. Rabindra Jadeja and Suresh Raina remained unbeaten 7 and 17, respectively. Among the Hyderabad bowlers, only Rashid Khan was able to penetrate the opposition batsmen, utilizing the dew that grasped on the grassy surface of the track to scalp all the 3 wickets giving away 36 runs in his 4 overs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) benefitted from bringing Manish Pandey back into the squad against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Wednesday. The team winning the toss elected to bat first and rode an excellent 57 by David Warner and 61 by Manish Pandey to reach 171 in 20 overs having lost wickets. After Jonny Bairstow returned to the pavilion scoring only 7 having played five deliveries it was Manish Pandey who joined David Warner. Hyderabad’s score was 22 for 1 in the 4th over that time. Pandey exhibited a delightful 61 off 46 deliveries hitting 5 fours and a six with a decent strike rate of 132.60 while Warner's innings on Wednesday was a little more responsible and patient than being aggressive as the Australian batsman scored 57, having faced 55 deliveries, smashing 3 fours and 2 sixes with the strike rate of 103.63. In the power-play session, Kane Williamson's effective unbeaten 10-ball 26 took SRH score to 171 finally.

On CSK’s behalf Lungi Ngidi having found a place in the playing eleven after a couple of breaks, bagged two wickets of Warner and Pandey giving away 35 runs in 4 overs. Sam Curran managed to get the other wicket of Bairstow.
