FEMALE BOWLERS

 

Female cricketers have made a great contribution to women's cricket, a sport that has become the favourite sport of many people. Women cricketers have shown many skills including bowling and I hope we will see more in the coming future.

 

These cricketers are true inspirations for many women around the globe. We have made a list of some top bowlers, let’s read ahead.

 

1.    Cathryn Lorraine Fitzpatrick

She is thought to be the world's fastest bowler and plays cricket for Australia. She had in total taken almost 60 wickets in just 24 innings which is the most incredible work we have ever seen.


She played a significant role in the teams that won the World Cup in 2005 and 1997. In the one-day internationals she played from 1993 to 2007, she took around 180 wickets. Her average in test bowling is 19.11.

 

2.    Jhulan Goswami

The Indian female cricketer became the fastest bowler after Cathryn retired from every format of cricket. She was awarded in 2007, the ICC Women's Player of the Year. She took 40 wickets in 18 innings, which is quite a big score.


She has an average of 16.62 in test bowling. She has bowled with such finesse that she took 4 wickets two times and 5 wickets once. In her one-day international career from 2002-19, she has taken 218 wickets.

 

3.    Lisa Carprini Sthalekar

Australian female athlete who was born in India yet plays all positions. In one-day cricket, she is the first female to have 1000 runs scored and 100 wickets taken. In 16 innings, she nearly captured 23 wickets.


She has a 20.95 test bowling average and has once finished a game with 5 wickets. In her ODI career of more than 10 years, she took 146 wickets and a bowling average of 24.97 in ODIs. She also took 4 and 5 wickets respectively in single matches.

 

4.    Neetu David

A member of Indian women’s cricket and the best bowler in Test matches. Her left-arm spinning is excellent. In 16 innings, she had taken 41 wickets. In test bowling, her average stands at 18.90.


Additionally, she only grabbed 5 wickets once while taking 4 wickets three times. She has an ODI career from 1995 to 2008, and in that she took almost 141 wickets in her one-day international matches.

 

5.    Anisa Mohammed

She is currently a member of the women's cricket team of the West Indies. She is the highest scorer taking wickets in T20 Internationals. She took 145 wickets in 111 ODI matches. She has an average of 19.07 in test bowling. She has taken 4 wickets 6 times and 5 wickets 5 times.


Her T20 career started from 2008 till 2019 and in that she took 106 wickets. Her bowling average in T20 is 15.80 and she took 4 wickets 4 times and 5 wickets 2 times in T20 matches.
