Five Top Wicket Keepers of the World

Since batsmen and bowlers are given more credit in the gentleman's game than wicketkeepers, there is less interest in the position of the man in the gloves. A team can lose the entire game with just one error, lost catch, or missed stumping. Many cricketers over the years and in various eras have defined and reinvented the position of the wicketkeeper. Particularly in white-ball cricket, a player who excels with both the willow and the gloves is accorded more preference in modern cricket. Only a select few players have been able to balance their batting and keeper abilities to become all-time greats.

Tim Paine

Australian captain for tests and talented wicketkeeper-batsman who has begun to establish himself in international cricket is Tim Paine. The wicketkeeper is doing an excellent job for Australia with the willow and behind the stumps. With 208 dismissals under his belt in 105 innings, including 195 catches and 13 stumpings, the Tasmanian-born wicketkeeper is regarded as one of the best in the Australian team.

Bradley-John Watling

His inclusion in New Zealand's ODI and T20I teams was primarily due to his lightning-quick reflexes behind the stumps. His outstanding and consistent play with the glove and bat secured him a permanent spot on the club, particularly in the game's purest version. Although BJ Watling's limited-overs career hasn't been easy because of his erratic in-and-out status, he has established himself as a familiar face for New Zealand behind the stumps in Test matches.

Joss Buttler

One of the top wicketkeepers currently playing is Englishman Jos Buttler. He is a successful aggressive hitter who can play any position and contribute runs for his team in addition to being a great fielder behind the stumps. With a T20I match against India in 2011, England's vice-captain for limited overs made his way onto the national squad. He advanced quickly through the ranks thanks to his reliable batting and quick glovework.

Wriddhiman Saha

With the gloves for India, Wriddhiman Saha has impressively demonstrated his versatility throughout the years. After the great MS Dhoni in contemporary cricket, he is regarded as the best Indian wicketkeeper. Since Dhoni retired from Test cricket in 2014, Saha has been a constant component of India's fielding unit in the most basic version of the game. Numerous experts and commentators have praised Saha's agility behind the stumps against fast and spin bowlers, and his track record in the gloves speaks for itself.

Quinton de Kock

In this list of the top 5 wicketkeepers in world cricket right now, Quinton de Kock holds the top spot as one of the most renowned wicketkeeper-batsmen for South Africa. The left-hander is a lightning rod on the field and is renowned for his superb glove work. De Kock, who leads South Africa in all three formats while being only 27 years old, is regarded as one of the game's future greats. In a T20I match against New Zealand in 2012, Quinton made his debut for South Africa, replacing AB de Villiers as the team's wicketkeeper.
