Most Runs in ODIs by Women

Women's cricket is an underestimated sport around the globe today too. We may talk about men’s cricket, but not about women’s cricket. Women players also play cricket with full dedication.


We should all see and appreciate women’s cricket. We have seen some incredible men players but never talked about the skills of women in batting, bowling, or fielding.


Let’s see some of the women players who have made the most runs in ODIs.


1.    Mithali Raj

She is an amazing cricketer and was formerly the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team. She has scored 7805 runs in one-day international cricket, which is the highest score to date. She makes runs with a very good average of 50.70.

She has hit the most 50s in one-day internationals I.e. 64. She is the top run scorer in international cricket with 10454 runs. She is a great inspiration for many of the women who wanted to make a good career in cricket.

 

2.    Charlotte Edwards

Next is an English player named Charlotte who has been placed second in the list of highest scorers in one-day internationals. She has played around 23 test matches and 95 T20 matches. In 2018 she became the Director of Women’s Cricket Hampshire.

 

She has a record of making 5992 runs in just 191 matches, which is quite a good score and very difficult to make them too. In the career span from 1997 to 2016, she made seven centuries and forty-six half centuries. 

 

3.    Stefanie Taylor

Another dynamic player is from the West Indies, who has been placed third on the list. She has a record of making around 5367 runs in just 148 matches. She has also made the highest score 171.

 

She is the highest run-getter for the West Indies cricket team. She is the holder of a record for taking a hundred and four wickets in single innings in an ODI. She becomes an ideal for many women around the globe.

 

4.    Suzie Bates

She is the new captain of the women’s cricket team of New Zealand. She scored around 5207 runs in just 146 one-day internationals. Her average of making runs in ODIs is 41.32.


She has a record to score 12 hundred and 30 half-centuries. Her best performance came in the 2009 World Cup against Pakistan. She made 168 runs in 105 balls in the 2009 World Cup, beating up the bowlers of Pakistan.


5.    BJ Clark

She is an Australian former cricketer, kept in the fifth position on the list of making most of the runs in the one-day internationals. She has scored a total of 4844 runs in 118 one-day internationals.


She makes runs in ODIs with an average of 50 plus. She has a career span of around 15 years that is from 1991 to 2005. She is the first ever player in one-day international history to score a double century against Denmark in 1997, the total runs she made were 229.
