Cricket is India’s favourite sport and is quite famous among youngsters both boys and girls. This is a sport that requires the skills of a player, great knowledge, techniques, and team spirit. Indians are very crazy about this sport.


We have many great cricketers from India. Some are good at batting, some at bowling, and some of them are all-rounders. We must know about the amazing batsman we have from India.

Let’s just read about some of the topmost batsmen from India.

 

1.    Sachin Tendulkar

First on the list is Sachin Tendulkar, a retired international cricketer from India. He was born on the 24th of April 1973. He also captained and represented the Indian Cricket teams at many national and international levels. He is also referred to as the “God of Cricket.”


He is in the top position among the top scorers in one-day internationals with 18000 runs and in test cricket with 15000 runs. He is also the record holder of most received the man of the match award in the international format.

 

2.    Virat Kohli

Second, on the list is Virat, an international cricketer. He was born on the 5th of November in 1988. In the IPL, he plays as a member of Royal Challengers Bangalore. He is very well known by the name, “The Run Machine”.

 

In domestic cricket, he plays for Delhi. He is the record holder of the top scorer in the IPL series of cricket and in twenty-twenty internationals. In 2020, he was honored as the player of the decade by the international authority of cricket.

 

3.    Sunil Gavaskar 

The third cricketer on the list is Sunil Gavaskar, an international cricketer and now a commentator. He was born on 10th of July and the year was 1949. From 1971 till the year 1987, he represented India and Bombay in the cricket team.

 

He is also recognized by the name “Little Master.” His last test match was played on the 13th of March in 1987 which was against Pakistan. He made his debut on the 13th of July in 1974 and last on the 5th of November in 1987 in one-day internationals.

 

4.    Rahul Dravid

The next player is Rahul Dravid, born on the 11th of January in 1973. From the year 1990 till the year 2012, he represented Karnataka in cricket.

 

He made his one-day international debut on the 3rd of April in 1996 which was played against Sri Lanka and last played on the 16th of September in 2011 which was against England. From 2008 to 2010 he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

 

5.    MS Dhoni

The last player on the list is Mahendra Singh Dhoni, born on the 7th of July in 1981. He is a very great batsman and an incredible wicketkeeper. He is also recognized by the name “Mahi”.

 

His test match debut was on the 2nd of December in 2005 and his last was played on the 26th of December in 2014. Mahi’s one-day international debut was on the 23rd of December in 2004 which was played against Bangladesh and the last was played on the 9th of July in 2019 which was against New Zealand.
