Alex Hales denies 'racial connotation' in his dog's name
Former England batter Alex Hales denied saying that there was any racial connotation in the name of his dog following allegations by Yorkshire's former Pakistani cricketer Azeem Rafiq. Rafiq informed British Parliamentary Committee that Hales had given his dog that name as the dog was black. However, Hales who represents Nottinghamshire has revealed through a statement, "Having heard the allegations made against me I categorically and absolutely deny there was any racial connotation in the naming of my dog. I entirely respect and have huge sympathy for both the stance Rafiq has taken and what he has had to endure. His evidence was harrowing."
