Ashwin only five wickets away from Bhajji's feats
R. Ashwin who has been in excellent form so far with an impressive come-back to the recently concluded Twenty20 World Cup and against New Zealand in the three-T20I series is approaching another milestone before India's two-Test series starts in Kanpur on Thursday on 25th November. Being India's fourth-highest wicket-taker in the red-ball cricket with 413 wickets so far Ashwin will have the opportunity to cross former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and reach the third spot. Harbhajan has 417 wickets in his kitty while Anil Kumble is on the top spot with 619 wickets and Kapil Dev standing in the second position with 434 wickets. Incidentally, India's Umesh Yadav is also going to have the opportunity to reach a 100-wicket milestone during the forthcoming series against New Zealand. Yadav is only 4 wickets away from the feat.
