Atherton wants Rahul-Kishan pair starts India innings with the bat
After the defeat against Pakistan, Indian skipper Virat Kohli looked extremely embarrassed when he was asked whether Ishan Kishan could be tried as the second opener along with K. L Rahul replacing Rohit Sharma. But former England opening batsman Michael Atherton also has opined that Kishan should have been in the first eleven in the crucial match against Pakistan. Atherton believes Kishan is truly a dynamic batsman who already has scored three consecutive half-centuries in the last three T20 preparatory matches before the start of the championship. The former opening batsman said, "Ishan is a highly promising batsman and his form in the preparatory matches could not be ignored. So, I feel, the inclusion of Ishan in the squad will strengthen the side no doubt."
