Back-to-back defeat for India! Will they be able to give a victorious comeback?
Losing
the second ODI match by 5 runs, India is all set to face Bangladesh again. On
10th December the 3rd ODI match is confirmed between the team India and
Bangladesh.
India
has lost two back-to-back matches with Bangladesh under Rohit Sharma's
captaincy. In the last match, Bangladesh's player, Mehidy Hasan Miraz secured
his maiden ODI century. His contribution led Bangladesh to win the match.
BCCI
has said they'll conduct a review meeting for the ODI and previous World Cup
losses. Hardik Pandya is likely to become the captain of the next T20 series.
BCCI feels that Rohit's potential has come down as a captain. They were
disappointed in India’s batting and team manner in the World Cup. Even though
after suffering from severe finger dislocation on the second ODI, Rohit gave
his best for team India.
At
the very beginning of the second over, Rohit met with a bloodied scene. The
finger web of his left thumb and index tore while he was determined to catch
Mohammed Siraj's shot. He underwent a scan and even got stitches. It appeared
like India would lose after Shardul Thakur was bowled in the 43rd over, but
Rohit Sharma unexpectedly stepped out to bat despite having a broken left hand,
displaying incredible bravery and grit. He provided the Indian squad with an opportunity
to bat. Rohit led the match into the final over after scoring an undefeated 51
off only 28 balls, which included 3 fours and 5 sixes, however, when six were
needed off the final ball, Rohit was unable to push the ball over the boundary.
He also accomplished a goal and got his name added to the scorebook during his
inning. Rohit tallied with a strike rate of 182.14 and smashed five sixes. In
terms of the total of sixes, Rohit has compiled 502 and achieved 500 in
international cricket. However, Chris Gayle still stands at the top of this
list.
Discussing
the game, the home team struggled to reach 69/6 in 18.6 overs while batting
first before being rescued by Mahmudullah and Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Together,
they scored 149 runs, which was the sixth wicket. While Miraz achieved his
first ODI century, Mahmudullah scored 77 runs.
He
reached 100 from 83 balls without being dismissed, with eight fours and four
sixes. Bangladesh scored 271/7 points in their opening inning. India's first
four wickets fell for just 65 runs in 18.3 overs as a response.
Whereas,
Shreyas Iyer Scored 82 runs (not out) for 102 balls. The man of the match title
was snatched away by Mehidy Hasan, who got the key score of 100 for 83 balls.
Even
though India put up a terrific fight late in the match after the early
collapse, it was not enough to win.
Netizens
couldn't keep calm and bombarded Twitter with memes about the humiliating loss.
Whereas, Indian fans are vexed after the consecutive loss to Bangladesh. Fans
are looking forward to a heart-healing victory for team India.
