Essex Cricket Chairman resigns over racism issue

The chairman of English Cricket County Club Essex, John Faragher has resigned from his post following an allegation of racist language. The chairman however has denied the allegations against him that were related to a board meeting in 2017 but the club now wants to know why the incident was not properly investigated at that time. The club's chief executive John Stephenson, the former Essex cricketer also, has commented, "There is no place of discrimination of any at Essex Cricket Club." Following former Yorkshire's Pak cricketer Azeem Rafiq's allegation of racial harassment against the club chairman and other executives has already forced them to resign from their respective posts and rocked English cricket. England captain Joe Root who has played for Yorkshire throughout his first-class career also has raised voice seeking change in the club's administration.
