India Defeated Spain by 2-0

The opening match of hockey on Friday gave us a great outcome. The Indian team defeated Spain by displaying their excellent, very impressive hockey skills on the ground and won by 2-0. All the players showed great teamwork and performance.

Amit, who is a goal scorer in the Indian hockey team, managed to score in the twelfth minute from the penalty. At this, every person present at the Birsa Munda stadium applauded. We have no doubt about the skills of this player as he also proved it in Friday’s match.

Next, we will see our next player who is Hardik Singh, who scored a goal in the twenty-sixth minute. This was like a booster to the Indian team. It gave a different level of confidence to the full Indian team and the crowd too who were watching them live there. This increased the chances of our team to go in the quarterfinals.

The Indian Hockey team in total got five penalty corners and they only scored in the 2nd one. The captain of the team Harmanpreet just missed the penalty stroke in the 3rd quarter which was not a good start for the Indian hockey team.

We should not forget about the goalkeeper, who is Kishan Bahadur Pathak, who showed one of the very brilliant works on the ground. He has shown great footwork on the ground, and also saved many important goals for Spain.

We cannot say our opponent was easy to handle, Spain is a very strong contender but yes we did it. Spain is a very tricky opponent but yes it was our team that fought and did a very good job.

The Indian team attacked as well as counter-attacked their opponent and this helped them to gain a lot of balls from the opponent. Yet all players were very well on the opponent team too but the Spanish team got some chances but they wasted those chances.

Firstly, Spain in the first initial minutes was dominating on the ground without giving us chances to score any points. The Indian team calmly handled the situation, the teammates studied their opponents very nicely and took steps ahead toward winning.

India took the lead in the twelfth minute of the 2nd with the help of Rohidas. Rohidas received the ball after the drag flick by Rohamanpreet ricocheted off a defender's stick. He used all his strength to just outshine the goaltender in the country on all counts.

Just after a single minute, the hockey team got another penalty but unfortunately our captain Harmanpreet failed to score the goal. The second quarter went almost like the first quarter. 4 min after half time,

Hardik took the game to the heights by chasing our second goal of the match.

In the third quarter, the team didn't score a goal and our captain wasted a penalty in the 32nd min. We must appreciate all the efforts done by our Indian Hockey team and wish them good luck for the next matches.
