India Tour of England 2021: Players to undergo three RT-PCR tests before entering bubble-report

The BCCI is taking the health of its players who will be touring the UK, very seriously as it does not want a repeat of IPL 2021 where cases started to emerge inside the bio-bubble. As many as three RT-PCR Tests will be conducted on the players and their family members who will accompany them on the flight to the UK. The BCCI has also coordinated with the players and made sure that doorstep testing will be provided to the players irrespective of which part of the country they are in. Cricbuzz has come out with all these details in a report and stated that more tests are expected once they are confined to a bubble that will be based out of Mumbai. The players will enter this bubble by May 18-19 so that they stay there for almost two weeks. The BCCI is still awaiting health protocols from the UK government which will be passed on by ICC who are the organizers of the ICC WTC final. The BCCI had asked the players to prefer AstraZeneca’s Covishield as it is a UK product and will be available easily in the UK. Earlier we had reported that the team will undergo two quarantines, one in India and the other upon landing in the UK.
