Kapil Dev wants BCCI intervention in team selection
Former Indian skipper and legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev wants the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to intervene in the selection of Team India. Former Indian skipper actually wants BCCI should give more chances to youngsters rather than depending on big names in Indian cricket. Kapil has made this comment after India 'second-straight humiliating defeat at the hands of New Zealand in the ongoing Twenty20 World Cup. Kapil has commented, "Indian cricket has never been applauded when their victory depends on other teams' win or loss. I feel the selectors will have to decide the future of big names and big players." On paper now, India can only ensure a berth in the semifinal if they can earn convincing wins in all their remaining matches and at the same time if Afghanistan, Scotland, or Namibia can make upset defeating New Zealand.
