Kohli becomes the first batsman to score 6000 runs in IPL

RCB captain Virat Kohli became the first batsman in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to have reached the milestone of reaching 6000 runs On Thursday at Wankhede Stadium, Kohli achieved the feat, en route to his patient and superb 47-ball 72 against Rajasthan Royals. He needed only 51 runs to reach the milestone when he went to bat on Thursday. Kohli who has now 6021 runs in 196 matches so far the IPL leads the competition’s run charts. Suresh Raina of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is the second batsman on the list with 5368 runs in 193 matches and he congratulated Kohli first after the Indian skipper reached the milestone. Raina who needs 632 runs to complete 6000 runs has praised Kohli’s achievement in his Tweet, ‘This is HUGE, meet the first-ever player to reach 6000 runs in IPL', 'It was a delight to watch, more power to you', Raina has tweeted tagging Kohli. Kohli and Raina will be meeting head-to-head in their next match as RCB will take on CSK in Mumbai on Sunday. It is expected to be a top clash as RCB is on the top of the table while CSK is on the second spot so far.
