Morgan said the team lacked the required intent

Eoin Morgan has asked for more intent and clarity from his KKR teammates after their miserable performance (fourth loss in five matches) in the ongoing IPL so far. During the post-match conversation, the KKR skipper, commenting on the six-wicket defeat against Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede, said his side had ended up “40 short” after leaving themselves with too much to do in the back-end of their innings. “I think we lacked the required intent and impetus throughout our whole innings,” Morgan said. He added, stating, “We were sort of behind the eight balls probably from the get-go. Rajasthan adapted to the wicket well and we failed to do so. So I would say the key issue was with the bat. Short of 40 is a lot in a T20 match. It cost too much for our bowlers to make up for tonight.” The Knight Riders, asked to bat first at the Wankhede Stadium, managed only two boundaries in the power-play and the innings never really gained momentum from there they finished at 133 losing 9 wickets. According to KKR skipper, he wanted more contribution from his batsmen as this track was not as easy to bat on.
