According to Pietersen, India and England are the two teams that can win the championship. He has said, "It should be between India and England, and between the two teams it is difficult to mention one. Still, England has been showing consistent performance. They are playing without fear, without thinking of consequence." Weighing in further Pietersen has stated Rohit Sharma's name to become the highest run-scorer on the ongoing championship and among the bowlers, Pietersen has mentioned Shaheen Afridi's name to emerge as the highest wicket-taker in the tournament.
