Suryakumar explains about the MI surprise against Punjab Kings

Mumbai Indians on Friday threw a surprise when Ishan Kishan walked out to bat at number three position against Punjab Kings during their Indian Premier League (IPL) clash at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Surya Kumar Yadav is generally slotted to bat at the number three position. But the situation changed against PBKS. Speaking during the post-match press conference, Suryakumar, bringing clarity on the issue, explained that it was the management's call to promote Kishan up the order. He also added explaining that they had decided collectively that if a left-hander gets out then a left-hander should go to bat. Suryakumar clarified that they both have been playing a similar role in the past few years and it did not create any difference of opinion between them. The move, however, did not work out well for Mumbai Indians as Kishan was dismissed for just 6 off 17 balls. Suryakumar, who walked in at number four position, continued his good run in the tournament by scoring a 27-ball 33 and putting up an impressive 79-run stand with skipper Rohit Sharma.
