Taapasee Pannu lashes out at publication for calling Mithali Raj ‘former’ India cricketer
News is rife that Taapsee Pannu has been working really hard on her upcoming biopic Shabaash Mithu. The film is based on the life of Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj.
Last week Taapsee took to Instagram to post pictures of her training. Amidst all this, she recently lashed out at a publication for referring Mithali as a former cricketer.
She further wrote that this very lack of awareness about women in sports is exactly why biopics like these should be made. “You do realise she is still the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team that’s going for the upcoming World Cup. Exactly the reason why this film NEEDS TO BE MADE! ‘Former’!!! #ShabaashMithu,” tweeted Taapsee Pannu.
