Veda Krishnamurthy’s mother dies of Covid-19
Indian women's cricket team player Veda Krishnamurthy took to Twitter to thank everyone for their messages after her mother lost the battle against Covid-19 and passed away. Her mother Cheluvamba Devi along with other family members had been infected by the deadly virus which is wreaking havoc across the nation. Veda revealed she has tested negative for Covid-19 but urged others to keep her sister in their prayers as she battles the virus after testing positive. “Appreciate all the messages I have received about the loss of my Amma. As you can imagine my family is lost without her. We now pray for my sister. I have tested negative & appreciate it if you can respect our privacy. My thoughts & prayers go out to those going through the same,” she wrote in a tweet. Veda is an important member of the Indian women's team squad and has represented the country in both ODIs and T20Is. She had made her India debut in a T20I match against Australia in June 2011 and has since been an integral member of the team. The Bengaluru cricketer has played 48 ODIs and 76 T20Is with 829 and 875 runs in the two formats respectively.
