Zampa, Richardson pull out of ongoing IPL

Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson have pulled out of IPL 2021 citing personal reasons. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) confirmed on Monday on April 26. Both the cricketers of RCB will be unavailable for the remainder of the tournament.

“Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson are returning to Australia for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of IPL season. Royal Challengers Bangalore offers complete support to them in all the possible ways we can," the franchise said in a statement. However, it is believed that amidst the increasing concerns over the Covid-19 pandemic in India both the cricketers have left.

The Australian pair followed their countrymate Andrew Tye who left the Rajasthan Royals camp to travel back home, expressing anxiety over the growing pandemic. Similarly, amidst growing concerns, Ravichandran Ashwin also has left Delhi Capitals bio-bubble to attend to the immediate family members who have been reportedly affected by Covid-19.

RCB is third in the table with four wins from five matches. Kane Richardson featured in only one in the ongoing IPL. However, Zampa has not been able to make it to the playing eleven.
