Both teams are coming into the contest with similar fate, both have had a win and a loss each in their previous outings. On one hand, Punjab will be cautious tonight playing at the Wankhede as they were outplayed by the Chennai Super Kings on the same venue couple of days ago. On the other hand, Delhi are having problems choosing a fast bowler over a batter which can provide more depth their bowling attack.
For Punjab, batting is their forte with some really good powerful hitters in their-mine-up, but their bowling is what holds them back every time. At this point they will be planning to play an experienced bowler as their two new international recruits are falling short on IPL experience. Delhi on the other hand, will be thinking of including someone like Shimron Hetmyer who can add depth to their bowling. All in all this is going to be perfect treat for a Sunday Night!

Pitch Conditions
The pitch conditions are really good for batting at the Wankhede stadium, it is a perfect T20 pitch and the kind of pitch two good batting teams like Delhi and Punjab would love to play on. Both teams have depth in their batting and some really good hitters in their respective line-up. So, one thing is for sure that this one is going to be a high-scoring match after all. The team that successfully restricts the other for a low score will have really good chances in the second innings.

Their batting order without a doubt looks like the most power packed if you compare them to other teams. They have the Universe Boss Chris Gayle; they have the best T20 batsman Dawid Malan, they have their captain KL Rahul and youngsters like Mandeep Singh and Mayank Agarwal. In the middle they have players like Sarfaraz and Shahrukh while in the tail end they have someone like Moises Henriques who can smash a few out of the park when the need be. All in all they look like a batting side to play against. The first match will give them a good idea of which attack to go with.
DC:
The best part about the Delhi Capitals is that there batting line-up looks strong on paper as they have four Indian batsmen in their arsenal with the likes of Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane. Ajinkya has not found a place in the playing XI but may soon find a spot given his skills. Hetmyer has not looked his usual self so, he may lose out on his spot to Steve Smith. Shikhar is looking good after the last season so that’s good news. They also have a handy all-rounder in the form of Marcus Stoinis who has done phenomenally well for them in the past, so the middle-order looks sorted.

This year they have made some serious changes to their bowling department after their failure to live up to expectations last year. They have the likes of Chris Jordan, Jhye Richardson, Riley Meredith and of course India pacer, Mohammed Shami. They will have three good spin options in Ravi Bishnoi, Murugan Ashwin and Saurabh Kumar. Their bowling was a serious area of concern last year and this year they will be looking to turn it around.
DC:
When it comes to bowling Delhi capitals is not far behind. They have got some exceptional talent in this department. Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje have done really well to keep the team afoot along with Marcus Stoinis. Ishant Sharma will been refreshing to watch this season as well youngster Avesh Khan. It will be great if Ravichandran Ashwin can join the party soon. Also, it will be interesting to see which combination they bring out in this contest to strengthen the line-up.
Match Prediction:
The Wankhedevery much is supportive for the batsmen; the batsmen are having a gala at this ground as the ball is coming on to the bat really well. From what we have witnessed in the last matches, it is noticeably clear that it will take an extraordinarily strong bowling line-up to get the other team out before they cross 150. PBKS has a wide range of pace bowlers and may have an upper hand here over DC who have struggled to play against fast bowlers in the past here.
